Remember wireless data networks five years ago? Slow? That's what the Peek uses.
If you can write an interface that can convert the text used by Peek into database format into these applications you are referring to, you would be sitting on a gold mine by reselling these Peeks to tradesmen who cannot do anything unless they BUY THIS PROGRAM. Until then, you would be seeing someone else getting rich because they read it here. Sady. While you complain about it being worthless.
The Peek network is not designed to handle these heavy duty files. Eevn if the Peek had this capability you would be waiting forever for the files to download. It's a GPRS radio for pete's sake!
I agree completely. I think this should be the most important 'feature' to have before competing with the big dogs.
Even though power cycling and removing the battery are all reliable workarounds, they are just that. I have a blackberry for work and all I use is email and the occasional browsing. They go for 30~40 days before needing reboot or batery pull.
With the current f/w 1.09.18 my Peek needs a battery pull (unable to power off via button) if I try to send three emails in 5 minutes.
No disrespect, but until the Peek can run for days without invoking power cycle or battery pull, it will continue to be considered a toy.
you missed the whole "keep it simple" thing. Peek is supposed to be email ONLY, to keep it simple. What you want is ... what you've already got -- an iPod Touch.
"T" is already used to take you to the Top of a message, so some other letter, but absolutely, we need to be able to reply to texts EASILY without having to delete all the previous messages. We want a Peek with something closer to true texting.
Hey, i have your solution ..... just grab your peek and push in the scroll wheel, scroll all the way to the bottom and push on the Peek Manager. You can also press enter. The first thing that you will see is Email Accounts highlighted in blue, just press enter. Then you are going to see your email account or accounts and press enter. scroll all the way to the bottom where it says signature and erase the www.getpeek.com. Thats it. You can put your own signature there if you would like. You can put your initials, i would recommend those because they are the shortest and would save you space as far as texting goes. If you have multiple emails you might have to go through the process of erasing the signature line and putting your own. I hope that this has helped you. Have a great New Year and hope you had a Happy Holiday :)

also the SMS should be true SMS - in every aspect of the word - having to put things in the subject header is annoying - having my name show up in texts is annoying - having to erase all the copied info when I click reply to a text is annoying - the texting really seems like its a lucky afterthought on the device - but in all the promo/marketing/advertising you make it seem like one of the two main attractions
the easiest way I could see doing this is having another keyboard shortcut (like how you have R for reply or A for replay all) - you could have T for text. and when you clicked the T it would set up a reply and leave everything blank - sending you right to the subject area so you could type in your text.

Seriously, being able to download more text in an email just makes sense. I cannot read all of my dailylit subscription on my peek because the message gets truncated. It is just text, please increase the limit or uncap it. Thanks,
Oh, I agree. They already have the email and Twitter software, adding a simple browser and, perhaps, support for somthing like a Facebook should be pretty straightforward. You still have that simple to use device. The browser could get you anything that does not need Flash.

Connector on Peek is a micro USB. Many new smart phones use it. I think the 'standard' you are referring to is the mini USB connector.
Please improve reliability before even considering functionality. Thank you.

Want a web browser....buy a Blackberry. KEEP PEEK SIMPLE! EMAIL ONLY!
I agree entirely. They should also combine a Twitter app, and Facebook app. Make it into a social device, and not an email device.

What exactly is difficult about using the peek's wheel instead of the blackberry trackball? That it's on the side and not under the display?
try sugarstats.com, you can email data to the site and it will track it all for you
If you have a Google Account use Google Calender and it will let you email your appointments hours or days before its comes.

ditto. Much as I love the idea of the peek, I can't switch to a browserless mobile device.
I second that! My finger hurts from pressing down the scroll bar!

I'd go as basic as integrating the software on my Pronto and Twitterpeek onto a single device so I could swap between the two.

or at the very least be able to use the Compose New Emal (c) keyboard shortcut from the viewing email screen - not just the main menu

better integration with google voice for SMS, so that setup is a simple as everything else on the peek.
I agree that threaded emails option makes sense. I would rather have threaded vs. not threaded.

i emailed them asking if they would be releasing any new hardware versions of the peek and they said they didnt have any plans to anytime soon:(
